But the entire time, it’s becoming very apparent that this is a very fluky 2021 in the same way that 2007 or 2009 were where the team won in the high 80 games with negative run differential and they had an impossibly good record in one-run games and extra-inning games.
Obviously, it was a thrill to have the season go down to the wire like that. I think I had that team pegged for 77-78 wins.
In order to kind of talk about 2022, we have to talk about 2021. Leading off is the only person who accurately predicted the World Series matchup and the number of games in the history of this project (and is the reigning champ/person I’d take to Vegas with me). Last year, no one guessed the World Series matchup and number of games correctly (though a few came pretty close), so, let’s get rolling with our predictions list. Maybe we go for a cool 162 next year? If nothing else, we know that musicians love America’s Pastime (even if many feel that it doesn’t love them back).
